Welcome to the Parish Church of St. Catherine, Heald Green, part of the Diocese of Chester, one of forty-two dioceses of the Church of England, itself part of the Anglican Communion, a family of churches numbering 70 million people in 161 countries around the world. Saint Catherine's is a friendly church which works closely with the other Christian denominations in the area. Originally from the catholic tradition of the Church of England, our worship now reflects the widest diversity of church life in the 21st century. Our preaching and ethos is strongly grounded in the Scriptures, and small groups for adults, young people and children are an important part of our church life. This is an exciting time for us, as in 2006 we celebrate the 50th anniversary of the consecration of our church building, looking back with thanksgiving and forward in hope and trust as we plan to develop our buildings and our ministry in the future. As we welcome you to this website we also look forward to welcoming you to share in our worship and fellowship.
Almighty God, you have knit together your elect in one communion and fellowship in the mystical body of your Son Christ our Lord: grant us grace so to follow your blessed saints in all virtuous and godly living that we may come to those inexpressible joys that you have prepared for those who truly love you; through Jesus Christ your Son our Lord, who is alive and reigns with you, in the unity of the Holy Spirit, one God, now and for ever.
