Mission Statement
The purpose of Saint Catherine’s Heald Green is to respond to our common calling by God to grow in faith, unity & outreach always seeking the guidance of the Holy Spirit as part of the Church of England and of Churches Together in Heald Green…
To be a community which has at its heart the regular and sincere worship of God – hearing and receiving the Word of God read and preached, sharing regularly in the sacrament of holy communion, joining together in prayer for God’s Kingdom.
to be a place of Christian Teaching and Learning for all who seek God, whatever their age, stage of faith or ability.
to enable and sustain growth in faith and discipleship, offering freedom to ask questions and to challenge ideas, engaging with and encouraging one another in mutual care, without prejudice.
to encourage a deepening relationship with God and one another, exercising forgiveness.
to recognise that every member of the church has something to teach and something to learn.
To seek unity among our own congregation, acknowledging and respecting the diversity of our Christian experience, our different needs, preferences and personalities, putting the needs of others before our own.
to work for full unity among all Christians of different traditions
to resemble a family of people of all ages and stages of faith – in our commitment to one another.
To be outward looking, seeking to address the practical and spiritual needs of those beyond the membership of the church, seeing in all people the image of Christ.
to be open and welcoming to all, reaching out and inviting others to share in the church’s life and reflecting this openness and welcome in our worship, business, social life and in our buildings
to be a visible witness of the Gospel in our community, and a sign of love, peace and hope, reflecting Christ’s concern for all people our community, and a sign of love, peace and hope, reflecting Christ’s concern for all people.
